This coffee is made of a blend of cherries produced by smallholder farmers in the region of Corquin. The washed process was done at the coop facilities to ensure consistency.
This coffee has been decaffeinated in Germany using a water method (H2O):
At the beginning of the water decaffeination process, the silver skins are dissolved by steam treatment and separated in a countercurrent air flow. The water-soluble substances, including the caffeine, are then extracted from the green coffee beans with water. The caffeine is removed from the resulting solution using activated carbon. The decaffeinated solution is then added back to the intermediately dried beans. The final drying ensures that the water content of the coffee beans is returned to its original moisture content.
